Good morning, everyone!

57:38
I've made homemade wine but not beer.

58:06
I made wine one time.

58:24
We’ve made wine

58:36
Whole new topic for me. I know it is of great interest, but I’m not a beer kind of person, but I like cooking.

59:05
I tried but then I realized how challenging it is to make a good IPA so I just go down to my local brewery since fortunately its only a few blocks away

59:29
My grandmother made beer in the late 20's, 30's. They may have done it to sell to bring in some cash. They were very cash poor.

01:00:29
good story on NPR recently about a woman who moonshined to raise money for her family. Maybe that was her!

01:01:18
She didn't make moonshine as far as I know.

01:02:15
oh right. I see now that you said she brewed beer. great!

01:08:02
10?

01:10:13
I remember Big Timber about that time

01:10:42
they were definitely part of the initial batch of breweries to take off about that time

01:11:27
Absolutely.

01:11:35
Big Timber just moved to a larger facility and significantly increased their production capacity

01:16:20
I looked it up and it said that Parkersburg Brewery /1859 Rapp & Hebrank was WV

01:17:09
awesome!

01:17:30
That's great!

01:18:00
ante bellum brews!

01:40:12
Bill at Chestnut Brew Works studied fungi - specifically the one that causes Chestnut blight. Turns out yeast and fungi are close cousins so it worked out well!

01:44:18
So fascinating.

01:46:05
all is very interesting. Thank you for sharing with us.

01:50:19
Gotta go. Thanks for the info. Interesting.

01:52:26
This has really been very educational and well thought out. Thank you guys!

01:52:55
So what is your alls take on sin taxes. I sent an email to Governor to tax out of state and not in state manufactured beer.

01:53:12
Lucky!

01:53:34
Thank you all for the information relating craft beer brewing and the importance to WV tourism.

01:53:49
thanks

01:53:51
Thanks so much for presenting.

01:53:55
Thank you

01:54:04
Fantastic presentation. loved it.

01:54:09
Re: sin taxes - these microbreweries are an important and growing segment. Those make them less competitive in state and especially out of state. I think we should be encouraging more of them

01:54:12
Thank You

01:56:08
Great presentation Thank you

01:56:27
Thanks so much for attending and participating, everyone.
